Our Basque team continues to strengthen the relationships they have built since arriving in Spain last summer. Recently, those efforts have been bolstered by two opportunities for expanded ministry, both in Spain and in the United States. In Spain, we just wrapped up our first Perspectives Global course. It’s a 15-week Biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic view of the world Christian movement that we will help facilitate throughout Spain in the coming years. According to Hal Lehman, international church planting director, “It was a powerful time, just to see and talk with pastors from evangelical churches in Spain. The course really opened their eyes to ministry methods that Jesus and his disciples used—methods that still work today! These churches are very committed to expanding outreach among the unreached people around them, and we want to build into them any way we can.”

Stateside, we’re ramping up for Basque students to spend the summer with families from five different FEC churches. Thanks to a host of previously established relationships between US and Basque families and American Dream, a new program started in Spain by two women who visited the United States themselves as teenagers, over 30 Basque students are preparing to improve their English by being immersed in American culture—and a week at Miracle Camp—this summer. Says Hal, “these summer experiences are a great way to build lifelong relationships with Basque students and their families, with what we hope will reap eternal results.” Please be praying for positive experiences in both ministries in the coming months.
