Pure Desire University offers restoration and healing for those struggling with addiction

Want to ensure your ministry is viable, relevant, and effective in today’s culture? Then make plans today to attend one of two FEC-sponsored Pure Desire University (PD-U) conferences. Hosted at Northwoods Community Church on February 17-18 and at Archbold Evangelical Church on March 10-11, this unique, comprehensive forum gives church leaders and lay people alike the resources they need to offer restoration and healing to people with who struggle with sexual addiction.

“Every person I have spoken with knows the damaging effects of addiction first hand,” says Jesse Kahler, lead pastor at Archbold Evangelical Church. “Even solid, evangelical church members have been living in complete bondage. But going through the Pure Desire University program has changed their lives. This conference is unbelievably engaging,” he continues. The two-day conference provides a comprehensive understanding of addiction and offers and the tools required to develop a healing ministry that offers hope and freedom to men, women, students, and families.

“Our goal is to raise up leaders who can walk alongside people who have been held hostage by sexual addiction,” says Jesse. “This conference gives them the tools to do that.” Participants will gain an understanding of the role shame plays in the addiction process, learn to recognize the significance of God’s continued and persistent grace, learn the truth behind the neurochemistry of addiction, and realize how childhood trauma perpetuates addictive behavior. The PD-U program also helps people identify the specific behavioral triggers that contribute to addiction. To learn more, contact Jesse at jesse@archboldevan.org or Northwoods Church.
