How three recent church plants in the heartland continue effective ministry in Jesus’ name

Building up the body through evangelism and pastoral care. It’s a common theme for three young FEC churches in Kansas—each planted less than four years ago. For Adam Utecht at Grace Community Fellowship, that means equipping lay people to minister through the highly effective Stephen Ministry program. “We’re excited about what that ministry can do as we come alongside people who are hurting and needing help, both within and outside the church,” says Adam. “It’s just one more way we can be true to God’s word and be clear about the good news with the people around us.”

For Landon Jordan at New Anthem Community Church and Jason Rains at Grace Crossing, baptisms are a sure sign that their evangelism strategies are working, with over 90 baptisms at Grace Crossing in the last four years and 20 baptisms at New Anthem in the last year alone. “We have made a concerted effort to make sure our church is evangelism driven,” says Landon. “Our prayer is that we would keep reaching the lost with the good news.” It’s the same for Jason. “We like to say that our goal is to be dot-connectors that point people to Jesus.”

In each church, lives are being transformed by the saving power of Jesus Christ. Even better, these churches are discussing plans to reproduce themselves in the near future, with the potential for even more people to connect with Jesus in new and powerful ways.
