Prayer revival leads to salvations, healings, and marriage restorations in West Unity, Ohio

“Can we start a men’s prayer meeting on Friday mornings at 5:45 a.m.?” This was the question two men from Solid Rock Community Church in West Unity, Ohio, asked their pastor one Monday morning. Randy Evers had just delivered his first sermon in a series about revivals the previous day. “My research revealed that every great revival throughout history has had one thing in common,” Randy says. “No matter where or when the revival occurred, people were always interceding long before the revival broke out.”

This idea captured his congregation’s attention, and that early Friday morning in July, a small group of men gathered for one purpose and one purpose only: to pray. “We weren’t offering breakfast. There was no keynote speaker and no special music,” says Randy. “All my experience told me we shouldn’t expect a crowd.” He was wrong. Within weeks, the group had doubled, and they had to move the meeting time even earlier so they could spend more time in prayer. To date, over 30 men have joined the cause, and the women have started a prayer group, too.

The results are nothing short of miraculous. “At least ten people have come to Christ as a direct result of these prayers,” says Randy. “The group has also seen God answer prayers for physical healing and marriage restoration. People are falling on their knees in confession of sin. It’s a genuine outpouring from God,” says Randy. And while he admits he has no idea where all these prayers will lead, Randy is more than willing to leave the outcome to God. “I’m just happy to be part of this,” he says.
