Help create a disciple-making movement—on your knees!

“We believe we need to start a prayer movement before we will ever realize a church movement here in Basque country,” according to one of the newest members of FEC’s cooperative work in Basque Country. “If you look at successful church planting movements around the world,” he continues, “not one of them started without a great deal of prayer.”

This kind of prayer is especially important in Basque country. “Church planting here is very different,” he says, “because we aren’t the church planters. Instead, we’re looking for signs that God is already at work in people’s hearts. Our job is to invest in them and train them. We’re essentially finding the church planters here.” Through Discovery Bible Studies, the cooperative team will train up leaders, who will in turn start Discovery Bible Studies of their own. “Those people are the first planters of the churches here,” they say.

That’s why the team is so dependent on people’s prayers, to help them identify people who are open to spiritual conversations and eventually to the gospel message. If you’d like to join the team in prayer, just visit their new website, prayforbasquecountry.com, which is designed to recruit hundreds—if not thousands—of people to join in prayer for the Basque people. Through videos, photos, and brief cultural insights, the team will keep followers updated with fresh prayer material two or three times a week. Supporters can even join a regular prayer group using Zoom online conferences, connecting people from around the world in real-time prayer groups. Signing up is simple. Just visit prayforbasquecountry.com, click on the “sign up to pray” button, and follow the prompts. Then join us in prayer!
