Ministry at Grace Community Church in Newton, Kansas continues to thrive after a year of exciting developments.
Instead of doing a traditional VBS program, the church has focused on doing a neighborhood program called Summer Quest for the past two years. This summer, the church expanded the program, impacting eight neighborhoods.
“We realize how much fun it is to have kids in our building for a Bible school, but we felt we needed to go into neighborhoods,” said Dave Reimer, Pastor of Grace Community. “We have discovered the percentage of unchurched kids in Summer Quest is much higher than when we do an in-house program.”
Pray for Grace Community as they choose their next church plant and for the leadership as they look for their next pastor. Dave Reimer, who is nearing retirement, will be transitioning into a different ministry role and will serve together with the new lead pastor for a period of time.
