After 10 months of investing in the lives of future pastors and ministry leaders, Christ the King officially concluded the first session of its new residency program in May 2015. Comprised of a combination of hands-on ministry experience, small group discipleship and study, and a thorough-yet-practical assessment, the residency program was by all accounts a success.  Michael Clary, lead pastor, explains. “Our goal for the residency program is not merely to send out a bunch of people. Through our residency program, we hope to help people discover their strengths and have a higher level of readiness for ministry. This year, we definitely accomplished that goal. Everybody grew in leadership and discipleship, and they all received practical next steps for life in ministry.” Each graduate received feedback on strengths, growth areas, and next steps.

For two graduates, those next steps were full-time ministry at Christ the King Church. “This year,” says Michael, “our graduates were better suited for ministry in an established church context, rather than in a church-planting role.” The residency team is already taking applications for next year’s residency program, so if you or someone you know might be interested, check out their website at christhekingcincinnati.com.
