West Africa trips encourage believers and strengthen village ties

During our recent village trips in West Africa, our team was able to pay our respects to the family of a believer who had passed away earlier this year. We offered our condolences and shared our hope of seeing this friend in heaven someday. It was amazing to watch the countenances change from grief to hope. One believer in the village responded by saying, “These words you are speaking are the truth. I am going to see our friend some day in heaven…. We have seen some of our people accept this road to follow Jesus and then turn back to the traditional religion…when the way becomes difficult. But I will never turn back. This new path I am on is the Truth and now that I have finally found the Truth, I will never turn back.”

In another village, we were able to offer support for the family of a community chief who had passed away a few years ago. As we were leaving, his widow told us how God’s Word is bringing them peace and courage in their hard life. In all the villages, our teaching times have been filled with joyful participation. Our hosts continually express their gratitude that we have come back with more of God’s word. Please pray for those who are hearing God’s Word but are fearful to change from their traditional beliefs. Pray for God to open hearts and minds to His Word.
