How Salem4Youth helped a rebellious young man turn his life around

“I can be a leader and make a positive difference. In Christ, I can be strong enough to face the challenges that come my way.”

These are the words—spoken with true confidence—of a recent Salem4Youth graduate. Today, this young man is playing varsity football and receiving full-ride scholarship offers to local universities. But when he came to Salem4Youth nearly two years ago, having failed at two other programs for troubled youth, this rebellious young man was nearly out of options. He credits his success to a complete life change he experienced while at Salem4Youth, which offers a faith-based residential setting for boys who need encouragement and hope.

“During his time with us,” says Steve McNair, marketing director, “he met Christ in a real way. After that, he became something of a ‘Renaissance Man’ on campus, excelling in academics, sports, and our equine program. Even more important, he earned his parents’ trust. We couldn’t be more thrilled.”
