The city of Auburn is gearing up for some major expansion—with what some are calling the largest development in DeKalb County—and FEC is launching a church on the front end of this growth. According to David Martin, former spiritual formation pastor at Pine Hills Church, “even if every church in Auburn were filled, there would still be a lot of lost people that we need to reach.” That’s why he and his wife Theresa, in conjunction with FEC and other ministry partners, are launching Graceway Church. “We want to be a part of what God is already doing in this area,” says David.

“A little over a year ago,” he says, “the Lord began to lead us to look for our next ministry opportunity.” At the same time, David had been meeting regularly with longtime friend and mentor, Duane Brown, owner of D.A. Brown Engineering Consultants. “As Duane began to share about the new development in Auburn,” says David, “I remember saying, ‘Somebody ought to be on the front end of this development and plant a church.’ As it turns out, that somebody is me!”

David is quick to explain that he and Theresa aren’t coming in to be the heroes of Auburn. Instead, they are planning on working closely with other churches in the area, serving Christ together. “People have voids and needs wherever they are,” he says. “We want to share the love of our Lord Jesus Christ with them.” With a launch team in place, and a good location recently secured, all systems are go!  Please be in prayer for this new church plant just north of Fort Wayne, that God would use this opportunity to expand His kingdom.
