Awakening! As I visit our various FEC churches, there seems to be one underlying theme that I sense wherever I go. It is a feeling that there is something big, something exciting on the horizon. So, just as we awaken each day with a new sense of expectancy, we all share that same anticipation for what it is that God wants to do in and through us. The theme for this year’s convention grew out of that sense of anticipation.
This year’s format will reflect our new vision statement to Establish Reproducing Churches Worldwide. The majority of our time together will be focused on encouraging and resourcing our churches and their delegates to fully engage in that mission.
Our presenters will include Doug Shell, who will address our Multiplication Mandate – ‘The Whole Gospel’, Michael Clary, challenging the Multiplication Participants – ‘The Whole Church’, Dave Reimer and Jay Nickless describing the task of Multiplication Centers – ‘Engaging Existing Churches’, and Dr. Phillip Nelson, who will explore opportunities and barriers that we face with our Multiplication Strategy – ‘The Whole World’.
We are also seeking to expand the resources we make available to our churches. This year’s exhibitors will include new ministry partners and present options that you have shared as valuable in your local churches. One such opportunity is the one I have attached to this letter. Q-Place provides materials and training to promote one-on-one conversations and small group interaction to mobilize the individuals in your congregation. Please pass this information on to your outreach and discipleship leaders. Several of our churches already use this resource and heartily endorse its effectiveness.
