Based on the idea that “prodigal” means “recklessly spending everything you have,” Tim Swanson and Brad Reith are offering people in Phoenix, Arizona, a new way to think about God and church. In a city where less than 15% of the population regularly attends church, Prodigal Church wants people to know that God is reckless in his love for us, and so we are called to be “risky” in our commitment to Him. Tim explains it this way: “God has pursued us at a great cost to Himself. In response, our goal is to recklessly spread the Gospel for Him.” Through innovative and sometimes unconventional means, Prodigal Church is hoping to create a safe place for people who want to explore the claims of Christ and a challenging place for those who want to grow in Christ.
