Answering the Gospel call through Church Planting
Acts 1:8 states, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” This Scripture is reflected within the mission of Synergy Multiplication Center in Kansas. Synergy exists “to plant and multiply life-giving churches locally, regionally, nationally, and globally that bring people to Christ, build them up in the faith, and send them out to change the world.
Synergy Church Planting Network – Kansas was begun by Grace Community Church in Newton, Kansas. Church multiplication mentor, Jay Nickless, believes that “church planting is the most effective way to reach people for the Gospel. Evangelism is the primary reason I am involved in church-planting.” Three church plants were birthed within the initial thirty-six months. Synergy now includes four thriving church congregations, with more plants in sight.
The Synergy Church Planting Network has three major facets of its ministry:
- Recruit and develop church planters
- Find receptive places to plant and
- Develop plans to plant new churches.
Each church plant leader attend Synergy Sessions in which they collaborate for training, tracking, and coaching in various aspects of church-planting. “God is always working in believers and nonbelievers. He opens doors, prepares hearts, and churches are planted,” Jay says.
Three thriving church plants in Kansas are led by Adam Utecht at Grace Community Fellowship in Hillsboro, Jason Rains at Grace Crossing in Moundridge, and Landon Jordan at New Anthem Community Church in Park City.
“This never gets old,” Jay says, “The goal of our church plants is to accept people where they’re at and give them room to grow.” As John 5 says, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” Synergy Multiplication Center looks forward to the continued growth and expansion of church-plants throughout the U.S. and covets your prayers as it pursues additional ventures.
