In the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), a region with deep Christian roots, for generations a historical shift towards another dominant religion has occurred. Recent years, however, have seen a resurgence of the Christian faith. Through partnerships with local churches, such as Mercy and Truth Church in Jordan, the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches (FEC) is fostering vibrant Christian communities and impacting neighboring Arab countries, helping to revitalize Christianity in its birthplace.
Excited to witness the growth of God’s Kingdom in MENA returning to its Christian roots FEC is actively participating in spreading the love and message of Christ throughout the Arab world. For a multitude of reasons, significant barriers to the gospel of Jesus and the evangelical church characterize this region. Historically FEC has had a minimal ministry footprint in this region. In recent years through FEC church planter, Nashwan Saadoon, God opened a door of opportunity to partner with Mercy and Truth Church located in Jordan.
Twenty years ago, God gave the vision to Pastor Noor and a few others to share the gospel with the multitudes of refugees and immigrants coming to Jordan from neighboring Arab countries in conflict and crisis. Characterized by sharing unconditional mercy and truth (Ps 85:10) with these refugees and fellow Jordanian countrymen alike, the ministry vision and body of Christ followers have continued to increase. Today Mercy and Truth Church’s reach is multi-national within Jordan and into 11 neighboring Arab countries. Continuing to expand, the vision now includes effectively spreading the love and message of Christ to all 22 Arab countries through holistic ministries focused on planting and establishing churches full of life and making reproducing disciples.
Partnering with Pastor Noor and the Mercy and Truth ministry opens the door for FEC to effectively minister on a variety of fronts. Emphasis training and church planting throughout the region, a multitude of involvements are available including short-term trips for:
- Ministry vision and learning
- Leadership training
- Refugee ministry including medical, dental, pregnancy education, job training
- Ministry resourcing
- Visiting area Biblical sights
- And more
As FEC’s newest international multiplication initiative, we look forward to how God will build His Kingdom as we work alongside Pastor Noor, Mercy and Truth Church in Jordan, and throughout the greater Middle East and North African region.
