Every year, Miracle Camp and Retreat Center turns campers and private groups away, mainly because of a lack of additional meeting space. “The churches and groups that have been interested in retreats at Miracle Camp have needed a meeting space similar to the chapel, where they can meet and hold their own services,” says Jonathan Hyde, executive director. “Since we don’t have a second chapel/meeting space, we have had to turn too many of these groups away.”

In 2017, that’s about to change, thanks to upcoming renovations through the Evergreen Project. The latest development in the Keeping Faith campaign, the updated facility will provide this much-needed meeting space. With this renovation, Miracle Camp will be able to accommodate an additional ten private groups and create 32 extra beds for several scheduled retreats each year. Says Jonathan Hyde, executive director, “through the Evergreen Project, we wanted to focus on financial sustainability. Upon completion of Evergreen, camp fees will equal expenses, so we can then use donations to improve camp, maintain facilities, improve the guest experience, keep fees at an affordable rate for campers across the board.” In essence, Evergreen will create a multiplying effect, positioning camp for where God is leading for the next 50 years—and beyond.

In 2017, thanks to a unique gift-matching opportunity, every dollar raised toward the Evergreen Project will be matched, up to $300,000. To date, Miracle Camp is halfway toward this goal!
