The population in Denver, Colorado is growing exponentially. Josh Mackey, an FEC church planter, observed this firsthand living in the metropolitan area. With his heart for sharing the love of Jesus, Josh knew a church plant in the greater Denver area was his calling. Over the last year, his wife, Karissa, also felt this calling, strengthening their union as they took this step of obedience together. “The Lord has called us to jump in with both feet,” Josh says. Along with his team of 20 adults and their families, seeds are being planted for Table Fellowship Church to launch in southeast Denver in 2025.
The name “Table Fellowship” centers around Jesus’s example of ministry in the gospels, Josh says. “Our hope is that we’ll build a culture of a church that is more than a Sunday program, where people are really living out their faith around their tables as Jesus did.”
Josh is excited to see who the Lord will bring into this church family and how God will work in their lives. God’s hand is already at work in the people Josh encountered during this season of preparation. People have reached out who are “excited to get back into church and haven’t been in a while,” and people are using their gifts where previously they haven’t.
Before launching, Table Fellowship will do outreach in the community to begin building relationships with people, having events at parks, and inviting people to gather around the table to hear more about this new church and about the message of hope in Christ.
