It’s August.  It’s going to be hot.  If you’re like me, when the heat rises your top priority is finding relief, usually spelled–AC!  But there are times when air conditioning isn’t an option.  I attended an outdoor wedding a few weeks back on the hottest and most humid day of the month.  Just sitting still left us sweating as if we were running a marathon.  In a situation like that, your number one goal is to simply survive.  Endure the heat.  Other times, you expect to be able to control or regulate the heat.  But when the thermostat doesn’t seem to be working,  you’re left wondering why.

Now, here’s the thing.  It’s not just just hot in August, everyday life is filled with heat.  Things break.  People disappoint.  Opportunities come. Responsibilities increase. Pressure rises. Tragedy strikes.  When life gets hot, we often cry out to God.  We ask for relief, for the strength to survive.  We ask for the wisdom to manage or we simply cry out “why”.
