Ripe for the Harvest

An update about Northwood Community Church’s Partnership in Israel

When most people think about the Holy Land, rocket fire, conflict, and displaced people come to mind. The folks at Northwoods Community Church, however, think of something else entirely—opportunity. “The Holy Land has never been more ripe for harvest,” says Greg German, who is preparing for his sixth mission trip to the region. “When believers rally to share the hope we have in Christ, people are open to that message.”

Working with three long-term ministry partners in the region, including a Messianic Jewish church, an Aramaic church on the other side of the wall, and a humanitarian relief organization, Northwoods’ goal is to provide support and encouragement to these thriving local ministries, helping them become even more effective. Sponsoring a spa day for displaced Bedouin women, building a kitchen for Muslim refugees, and sweeping the streets in a refugee camp are some of the ways the Northwoods team is working alongside these organizations to impact the region with the Gospel.
