In November, Carlock Mennonite Church joined the FEC family of churches. Even though they are new to FEC, they have been a part of the Carlock, Illinois, community for over one hundred years. After leaving their Mennonite conference two years ago, rather than remain independent, they decided to join FEC because they align with our theology and mission. Pastor Doane Brubaker said, “We believe that we are better together.”

The roots of Carlock Mennonite Church may reach back over one hundred years, but the people who make up the church represent a multi-generational congregation from diverse professions who want to preach and live the Bible. That’s why they were drawn to FEC’s mission to obey the Great Commandment of loving God and others and the Great Commission by establishing reproducing churches worldwide. Carlock’s pastor, Doane Brubaker, said, “The church is rallying around the mission and looks forward to partnering with some of the FEC U.S. and global initiatives.” They also appreciate the resources that FEC provides for churches, families, and pastors.

Pastor Doane Brubaker and his wife Sharon have been in pastoral ministry for 42 years with six of those years at Carlock Mennonite Church.
