On Sunday, April 10, Grace Community Fellowship members and staff celebrated 10 years of faithful ministry in the Hillsboro, Kansas community. Grace Community Church in Newton, Kansas, planted the church in 2012, as their first church plant.  On April 10, they looked back at their history and forward to their continued mission.

During the celebration event, Pastors Mike Barter and Nathan Ehresman along with several guests recounted the church’s story. Looking back, Pastor Dave Reimer, Grace Community Church founding pastor, talked about the vision to begin planting churches, and Jay Nickless, Director of Synergy Kansas, shared how Hillsboro was chosen as the first church plant location. By video, Adam Utecht, their founding pastor, shared about the launch in 2012. Looking forward, both Barter and Ehresman, challenged the church to continue pursuing the Bring, Build, and Send vision. Nate Hamblin, FEC Executive Director of Ministry Resourcing, encouraged the church to continue multiplying churches.

Grace Community Fellowship (GCF) keeps the Bible central to all that they do. As evidence of that commitment, GCF utilizes a church wide Bible reading plan for preaching and small group discussion throughout the week. One man told Mike recently, “I’ve been reading the Bible, and my life has changed.” After 10 years, life transformation is what they really celebrate.
