Thanks to building renovations throughout the school district where LifeGate Denver typically holds weekend services, the church is meeting in a new venue at a new time throughout the summer. This kind of change can be challenging for any young congregation, but especially one where the idea of being fully committed to the local church is a little foreign. “Many people in Denver have a ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality,” says Joanna Wierenga, a leadership team member who works with the young professionals ministry. That’s why LifeGate makes every effort to plug people into a community that feels relevant. “People are fascinated by a God who is powerful and can change things,” says Joanna.

LifeGate has certainly seen it share of life changes since its launch in 2015. “Our mission is to see people made alive in Christ,” says Joanna. “It’s exciting to see people come to know the Lord.” As a result, marriages have been restored, people have gained victory over addiction, and families have been united. “I love to see people become whole and free,” says Joanna.

The only catch? They have to encounter Jesus first. Food trucks, ice cream, and an international food fair are just some of the ways LifeGate will draw people to their Summer Nights weekend services. Please be praying that people will be attracted to this Gospel-centered community, where they will encounter a God who is powerful to change lives.
