Pine Hills Auburn launched on Sunday, November 13, but they have already demonstrated their heart for the Auburn community through their Fall Harvest Party on Saturday, October 9. The launch team wanted their first introduction to the community to be an opportunity to serve young families.

Pastor Matt Lehman and his launch team hosted the event at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds where they will also gather for church on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. The team offered food, bounce houses, horse-drawn hayrides, pumpkin painting, face painting, and music during the afternoon. Expecting 150-200 people, the team ended up hosting 500 people. Even though Matt and Stefanie have lived in the Auburn community for seven years, they met new people at the event. Matt said, “The launch team circulated through the crowd that day and had great conversations with people.”

Matt has worked in the community for 15 years in home-based, family counseling. He said, “Through my work in the area, I saw the need for a church plant here. We wanted to launch the church within the city limits at an easy-to-reach location.” Since the Fall Harvest Party, many people in Auburn know that the new church is in their neighborhood.
