Pine Hills Kendallville loves their community and chose a new name to reflect their roots in Kendallville, Indiana. Planted in 2015, Pine Hills Kendallville in Indiana has become a fully independent church, and now, they have a newly renovated home and a new name, Fairview Fellowship Church.

Pastor Marc Buwalda explained that from the beginning they had planned to change the name from Pine Hills Kendallville to something that identified them in the Kendallville community. In January 2022, they began the process of choosing a new name. The name change would coincide with the renovation of their new building, purchased in December 2020. Initially, Marc introduced the idea of changing the name and invited members to submit ideas, explaining that the name should be biblical and reflect their community. After the elders collected the ideas, they chose Fairview Fellowship because the church rests between the county fairgrounds on the west and Fairview Boulevard to the east. Fairview Fellowship describes their desire to be known for true biblical koinonia, referring to deep and intimate fellowship between Christians.

After meeting in the Community Learning Center auditorium for five months, they returned to the renovated building as Fairview Fellowship Church on June 5. The renovation created a secure children’s wing, a large worship space, church offices, and a multipurpose space they call the connection point.
