Basque Update –
A few weeks ago I went to Catholic mass. While I was sitting in the service I noticed a young man sitting in the balcony by himself. What made it strange was that nearly everyone there is old, nearly everyone is with someone, and nearly everyone doesn’t seem to be taking it all that seriously. But this young man was different. He was by himself, he was young, and he seemed to be taking it seriously. What’s more is this was on January 1st, a day when most people in general are not awake early enough to make it to church.
I looked for an opportunity to connect with him after the service, but it didn’t work out.
Sometimes there are glimmers of hope like this. Today would you pray for this man? Pray that we would have a chance to meet. Pray that we would be able to connect with him again at the church or some other place in our town. Pray that he would start reading the Bible for himself and that he would approach us with questions.
